Kanbe’s Markets is a 501(c)3 non-profit on a mission to build a more inclusive food system in Kansas City by transforming food loss into food access. The Role
We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented, and creative Part-Time Graphic Designer
to join our marketing team. This role will play a vital part in shaping Kanbe’s Markets’ brand identity and communicating our mission to diverse audiences. The ideal candidate will contribute to various marketing initiatives, including digital campaigns, print advertising, and email marketing.

Responsibilities

Brand development: Create and maintain visual design elements that strengthen brand identity through marketing materials and promotional materials.

Experience designing is required, with a strong ability to create visually compelling and donor focused materials that tell our story and inspire giving.

 

Digital design: Assist in the development and execution of marketing materials across multiple channels, including digital and print.

 

Support the creation of engaging content for social platforms, email newsletters, and brand websites.

Visual communication: Develop infographics, layouts, and deliverables that effectively communicate complex information through digital designs.

Designer may create the following materials:

Appeal Letter
Flyer
Annual Report
Pledge/Donation Card

Qualifications

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and a strong understanding of typography principles.
  • Experience: At least 1 year of experience in graphic design with a demonstrated ability to create high-quality, impactful materials. A strong portfolio showcasing relevant work is required.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in design, visual communication, or a related field.
  • Attributes: Strong attention to detail, creativity, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to perform all essential job duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations.
