The Global Orphan Project, Inc. is a Christian nonprofit ministry with a mission to break the orphan cycle through the power of community, commerce, and the love of Jesus Christ. We carry out our mission by equipping and empowering local churches to care for children and families in crisis. We are seeking candidates who understand and are enthusiastic about advancing our organizational mission.

CarePortal (CP), a ministry initiative of The Global Orphan Project (GO Project), is connecting technology that drives action for local kids and families in crisis. This platform, which puts Christian churches at the point of care for each request made on behalf of children and families, can be used to establish a diverse network of churches, child-serving agencies, businesses, and individuals who care. Each network is supported by a team that focuses on recruiting new partners and maximizing impact of current partners by establishing a foundation of trust and excellence. The goal is transformation not only in the lives of hurting children and families, but in the Church, the community, and in child welfare. Learn more at www.careportal.org.

CarePortal is currently seeking to hire a full-time Church Ambassador of CarePortal to oversee the Marion County, Florida community.

Ambassadors serve as the leading relational ministry experts to churches and community champions that are assigned to their network. These network leaders are trusted, experientially-qualified local leaders who recruit, train, empower, and walk alongside church and community leaders as they use the CarePortal platform with a vision for how to engage the “Whole Church” across lines of denomination, race, class, and culture. A person would love this role if God has given them a vision for seeing the Church answering the call for caring for the vulnerable and have a natural ability to network clergy and community leaders together.

Compensation is commensurate with relevant skills and experience and team members are not asked to raise any of their own financial support.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit new Churches and Community Champions into the CarePortal network in a way that honors and reflects the posture and goals of The Global Orphan Project.
  • Provide culturally-competent orientation and training for new Church and Champion partners, serving as their main point of contact when it comes to equipping their leaders and teams to make meaningful connections through the CarePortal network.
  • Maintain a proficient understanding of how CarePortal works, in part by using it to personally meet and/or coordinate the meeting of requests.
  • Work with local Regional Managers (one per county), other Ambassadors, and Community Coordinators in collaborative planning and goal-setting.
  • Assist Regional Manager and Community Coordinator(s) to regularly host and facilitate active community gatherings, which should be as representative of the community as possible.
  • Raise awareness and cultivate relationships with community partners to provide resources to strengthen the network in practical ways.

Qualifications

  • Committed to following Jesus and mobilizing others to serve His Kingdom.
  • Passionate and competent in engaging and earning the trust of the whole Church to care for children and families in crisis.
  • Dedicated to GO Project's Mission and Core Values (Courage, Humility, and Excellence) including the 50 in 5 Plan.
  • Clear sense of calling to this role.
  • Skilled in vision-casting, listening, training, and coaching.
  • Skilled facilitator of community gatherings with the goal of driving collaboration and network growth.
  • Technology proficient (including Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Zoom, and others).
  • Relationally connected and committed to follow through.
  • Self-initiator and problem solver who can work independently.
  • Actively engaged in a church and trusted by church leadership to serve in this role.
  • Able to dedicate the expected number of hours in a flexible manner, working around meetings with key network partners.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and lead in coordinated efforts to collaborate with church, agency, and community partners.
  • Enjoys learning and discipling others to serve vulnerable children and families with empathy and dignity.

The Global Orphan Project and CarePortal offers a competitive benefits package for full-time positions (30+ per week) including health, dental, vision and employer paid life insurance, retirement savings and generous PTO plan and a highly competitive, market-indexed compensation when compared to similar non-profit roles. Compensation is commensurate with relevant skills and experience and team members are not asked to raise any of their own financial support.

The above description is not intended to be comprehensive, but rather a focused list of priorities. Success provides the opportunity to not only build a career, but also bring much-needed support and care to local children and families in crisis in the United States and around the world. Successful candidates, like all GO Project members, are expected to live and work consistent with GO Project’s vision, mission, and values.

OMNI and our clients are Equal Opportunity Employers and seek diversity in candidates for employment.
