American Association of Veterinary State Boards (AAVSB) is seeking an experienced Membership Program Manager to lead and grow two new membership programs that also benefit the veterinary regulatory boards in expediting the licensure transfer process. 

 

This full-time position is ideal for someone with an entrepreneurial spirit; who finds a startup exciting. What this means for us is finding someone who is ready to stand up new programs and who can look long-term and see what it takes to set up these new programs for success. This person would be ready for short-term setbacks and be ready to evaluate and improve them. The Membership Program Manager will lead a team of administrative support and will have significant support and opportunity for professional development.

 

This position will regularly interact with program members and internal AAVSB teammate across multiple departments. Excellent customer service and collaboration skills are a must so members and colleagues feel supported.  If you enjoy building new programs and seeing the success of membership recruitment, retention, and marketing efforts this position is for you!

 

Compensation: $55,000 - $65,000

Responsibilities

  • Own the leading role in new program strategy and execution.
  • Demonstrate a proven track record for building successful membership recruitment and retention campaigns with a solution-oriented, open-minded, and collaborative approach.
  • Responsible for generating and nurturing stakeholder acceptance of programs.
  • Develop and maintain annual and 5-year projections for program growth and development.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, colleagues, and direct reports to enhance current processes and develop new systems with the goal of expanding the impact and visibility of the programs.
  • Coordinate with other departments within the AAVSB to ensure transparency across the organization and engagement for effective execution.
  • Cultivate and steward key relationships with other associations to ensure a steady pipeline of support and recognition from diverse partners.
  • Identify and implement ways to collect and analyze member feedback, to improve the member experience.
  • Develop strategies for creative problem-solving and recommend plans of action to meet member recruitment and retention goals as well as stakeholder acceptance.
  • Communicate value proposition to members and stakeholders.
  • The Membership Program Manager reports to the Senior Director of Mobility.

Qualifications

Ability to:

  • Effectively plan, organize, prioritize, and manage complex projects with limited supervision.
  • Demonstrate a meticulous approach to work, focusing on accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail.
  • Work effectively, efficiently, independently, and collaboratively as part of the AAVSB team from a remote location or office setting, committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
  • Be energetic, self-starting, and have a strong commitment to the mission and goals of the association.
  • Show a proven record of achievement in leading and supporting new programs.
  • Communicate with excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Operate competently in the Microsoft Suite of Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Proactively interprets relevant insights and/or data points and recommends pathways to improve marketing and communication efforts.
  • Lead with authenticity, humility, and self-confidence.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Required Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years of demonstrable professional or significant tenure in association membership activities, including project, program, and people management

  • Preferred:  Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years of demonstrable professional experience in association membership activities, including project, program, and people management

Must be committed to ongoing professional development. Occasional travel and weekend work might be necessary to fulfill the position’s responsibilities.

Details:

The AAVSB is headquartered in Overland Park, Kansas. This position may be virtual/remote with the understanding that there will be required company-paid travel to Overland Park, Kansas, and other locations throughout the year.
