The American Association of Veterinary State Boards is a not-for-profit membership organization comprised of 62 Member Boards dedicated to the proper and efficient regulation of veterinary medicine in the interest of public protection. AAVSB is currently seeking to add a Full-Time Content Specialist to the Marketing Team. The Content Specialist is responsible for maintaining and executing the AAVSB's content strategy across various platforms for a number of campaigns to establish brand consistency and increase participation in the AAVSB's programs and services. Day-to-day activities include creating print and digital content including web, email, social media, blogs and articles, and print for the entire organization as well as program and service brands, working with the marketing & communications team, maintaining and expanding a content calendar, summarizing content analytics, and coming up with content opportunities.
The qualified candidate should possess strong marketing and communications acumen, strong writing skills, exceptional emotional intelligence, maturity, good judgement, and be capable of communicating with a diverse range of individuals, internally and externally.
Compensation: $50,000 - $55,000

Required: Accredited Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years’ relevant experience in an office setting.
Preferred: Accredited Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years’ relevant experience in an education setting or nonprofit association.
Must be committed to ongoing professional development. Occasional travel and weekend work might be necessary to fulfill the position’s responsibilities.

The AAVSB is headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri and moving to Overland Park, Kansas (KC greater metropolitan area) at the end of March. This position may be virtual/remote with the understanding that there will be required company-paid travel to Overland Park, Kansas, and other locations throughout the year.
