The Global Orphan Project, Inc. is a Christian nonprofit ministry with a mission to break the orphan cycle through the power of community, commerce, and the love of Jesus Christ. We carry out our mission by equipping and empowering local churches to care for children and families in crisis. We are seeking candidates who understand and are enthusiastic about advancing our organizational mission.

CarePortal (CP), a ministry initiative of The Global Orphan Project (GO Project), is connecting technology that drives action for local kids and families in crisis. This platform, which puts Christian churches at the point of care for each request made on behalf of children and families, can be used to establish a diverse network of churches, child-serving agencies, businesses, and individuals who care. Each network is supported by a team that focuses on recruiting new partners and maximizing impact of current partners by establishing a foundation of trust and excellence. The goal is transformation not only in the lives of hurting children and families, but in the Church, the community, and in child welfare. Learn more at www.careportal.org.

CarePortal is currently seeking to hire an Area Director to oversee the Greater San Antonio area in Texas. This is a Full-Time remote position.

Strong Area Directors are essential to expand CarePortal and develop effective care networks across our country. Area Directors establish strategy, direct execution, and arrange funding to ensure successful implementation across both new and existing markets. They supervise team members, recruit organizational partnerships, and work in concert with their Regional Director to create and execute a strategic plan for the Area, as measured by the number of requests met, the percentage of requests met, and the amount of funding raised in their Area.

When an Area Director is successful in this role:

  • Thousands of families and kids in crisis are kept from entering or falling deeper into “the system” for reasons related to poverty.
  • Churches are enriched by the relationships they form with vulnerable families and kids in their communities.
  • Child-serving agencies are reporting lower staff turnover rates due to caseworkers feeling more supported by the community.
  • Community businesses and organizations are empowered to meet real time needs in meaningful, culture-building ways.
  • The CarePortal network is positioned for long term success and expansion.

CarePortal provides team members with full benefits and highly competitive, market-indexed compensation when compared to similar non-profit roles. Compensation is commensurate with relevant skills and experience and team members are not asked to raise any of their own financial support.

Responsibilities

PRIMARY AREA DIRECTOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish and oversee area strategy for a comprehensive and diverse care network.
  • Recruit, equip and support partnering organizations.
  • Recruit, equip and support high impact child-serving agencies.
  • Build relationships with key government leaders.
  • Represent CarePortal at state levels.
  • Raise funding and recruit Community Champions.
  • Supervise direct reports.
  • Manage Area level budget.

Qualifications

  • Dedicated to GO Project’s Mission and Core Values (Courage, Humility, and Excellence).
  • Clear sense of calling to this role in this organization
  • Demonstrated success in leading and equipping a team with both clarity and inspiration
  • Skilled facilitator of team meetings (both in person and online)
  • Proficient with Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Zoom, and the ability to learn new technology platforms quickly (including the ability to lead others on and through such platforms)
  • Relationally connected and committed to follow through
  • Self-initiator, organized, able to work independently
  • Ability to keep a flexible schedule, working around meetings with the key players in the network
  • Passion and competency in engaging churches of diverse denominations, cultures, and locations to care for children and families in crisis
  • Ability to lead in coordinated efforts to collaborate with organizations of diverse perspectives, including the Church, government agencies, and community partners

The above description is not intended to be comprehensive, but rather a focused list of priorities. Success provides the opportunity to not only build a career, but also bring much-needed support and care to local children and families in crisis in the United States and around the world. Successful candidates, like all GO Project members, are expected to live and work consistent with GO Project’s vision, mission, and values.

The Global Orphan Project and CarePortal offers a competitive benefits package for full-time positions (30+ per week) including health, dental, vision and employer paid life insurance, retirement savings and generous PTO plan.

OMNI and our clients are Equal Opportunity Employers and seek diversity in candidates for employment.
