Girl Scouts of NE Kansas & NW Missouri is seeking Lifeguards for summer day camp positions at Camp Prairie Schooner located in Kansas City, MO.

The Lifeguards will ensure the safety of campers and staff during aquatic activities, as well as assist with overseeing the operations and maintenance of the waterfront area.

The Summer Camp schedule is end of May through the end of August.

Compensation ranging from $15.00-$17.00 based on experience and qualifications. 

• Ensure the safety of campers and staff during aquatic activities by administering camp safety practices and procedures.
• Enforce camp aquatic safety practices.
• Assist with setting up and closing of the Aquatic facility at the beginning and end of swim sessions.
• Assist with routine maintenance of facility.
• Assist with evaluating the aquatic abilities of individual campers.
• Inform supervisor of any staffing or camper related issue, problem or concern.
• Assist with required record keeping.
• Participate in all skill session reviews and/or in-services that may be scheduled throughout the summer.

• Current Red Cross (or equivalent) Lifeguard Certification or willingness to obtain certification upon employment.
• Continued employment is dependent upon successful completion of lifeguard certification if not currently held by employee.
• Previous experience as a lifeguard with knowledge of aquatic rescue and safety techniques preferred.
• Highly motivated, enthusiastic, skilled communicator with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Ability to problem solve and exercise independent judgment.
• Current membership in Girl Scouts of the USA or willingness to register.
• Minimum 16 years of age. Background check required.
