Versatech, a wholly owned subsidiary of Genuen, LLC, is a trusted partner providing manufacturing, engineering and consulting services to accelerate growth and optimize profits located in Effingham Illinois, is seeking a Design Engineer to join the team.

 

The Design Engineer is a Full-Time, Exempt position that reports directly to the Director of Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares engineering models, assemblies and drawings for customer projects.
  • Prepares bills of material and cut sheets for projects ordered by customers.
  • Coordinates with Director of Engineering, Sales Engineers, Vendors, Customers.
  • Schedules internal design reviews. Leads internal design review as well as customer and final design review.  Brings computer and all reference documents and obtains all required signatures.
  • Assists production and assembly in completion of work to assure compliance and on time delivery.
  • Consults with Sales Engineers and Customers on project design.
  • Coordinates with shop and assembly departments to assure compliance with engineering design.

Qualifications

  • High level of proficiency with CAD software.
  • Understands Versatech’s capabilities and capacities.
  • Moderately proficient in PC operation including Microsoft Office.
  • Basic competency on the operation of standard office machinery.
  • Capacity to work with diagrams and plans, and to relate schematics to actual objects and products.
  • Ability to reason mathematically with high speed and accuracy.
  • Cooperative, non-competitive and work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to speak and write fluent English, plus maintain confidentiality.
  • Communicate professionally and appropriately to all levels

Educations and Experience

  • Bachelors’ degree in Engineering.
  • Experience in design related field.

Working Conditions

  • Work schedule is 40-45 hours per week but may require more hours depending on department workload. Normal office environment, but occasional shop conditions assisting production or assembly with completion of work for compliance of engineering design.
  • Moderate to heavy physical effort or strenuous activity including walking, standing, bending, reaching and carrying loads up to 50 lbs.
  • Finger and wrist manipulation associated with drafting and operating personal computers.
