Versatech, a wholly owned subsidiary of Genuen, LLC, is a trusted partner providing manufacturing, engineering and consulting services to accelerate growth and optimize profits located in Effingham Illinois, is seeking an Assembly Technician to join the team.

 

The Assembly Technician is a Full-Time, Non-Exempt postion that will report directly to the Engineering Value Stream Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Reads and interpret mechanical blueprints.
  • Assembles mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic machine components.
  • Proper gage use and ability to determine part conformance.
  • Assembles subassemblies into full mechanical built equipment.
  • Troubleshoots issues within jobs including but not limited to; mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic circuits.
  • Obtain and carry out solid understanding of processes, procedures, and willing to alert/communicate when circumstances deviate from normal
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Ability to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Ability to understand and follow standards and work instructions.
  • Ability to reason mathematically with high speed and accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong mechanical background.
  • Basic understanding of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic circuits and components.
  • Ability to travel and a valid driver’s license is preferred for some job types.
  • Ability to speak and write fluent English.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.

Educations and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Minimum Associate’s Degree in a pertinent field, AutoCAD certificate or 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Working Conditions

  • Work schedule is 40-50 hours per week during or outside of designated shift, may require more hours depending on department workload.
  • Normal shop environment working for completion of work for compliance of engineering design.
  • Moderate to heavy physical effort or strenuous activity including walking, standing, bending, reaching and carrying loads up to 50 lbs.
  • Working around large automated machinery and large heavy objects.
