    Clark | Weitz | Clarkson (CWC) are the General Contractors for the new KCI Single Terminal Airport Project. CWC has an immediate opening in Kansas City, MO for a Workforce Director.

     

    The KCI Workforce Director will administer and monitor the pre-apprenticeship training program. The KCI Workforce Director will report to the KCI Workforce Committee with recommendations for procedures and standards for the program grievances, employment actions, and completion. 

     

     

    Responsibilities

    • Schedule and maintain shop and classroom areas for course instruction.
    • Determine materials, equipment, and tools needed for the training program.
    • Facilitate all classes, and coordinate classes with the instructors, allocating time needed for oral instruction, films, slides, reading materials, hands-on training, and testing when required.
    • Demonstrate the use of all equipment and materials used in the training program.
    • Bring recommendations to the Committee regarding retention, discipline or discharge of participants.
    • Evaluate participants, making final recommendation to the Committee whether each participant has sufficient knowledge of the subject matter to receive a certificate of completion.
    • Visit the job site where Program graduates are employed.
    • Maintain class records for verification of attendance and completion of class work.
    • Conduct follow-up studies and reports regarding the number of participants retained in the construction industry and make periodic oral and written reports to the Committee of progress and issues.
    • Hours of work are typically 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday-Friday. However, the Workforce Director must be flexible and available when necessary or asked to do so.

    Qualifications

    • Possess a high school degree or equivalent, Construction Management degree or at least 7 years experience in construction management.
    • Possess knowledge and experience of commercial construction, workplace etiquette, and conflict resolution.
    • Must have experience leading in a classroom environment.
    • Study, review, and aid in developing subject matter to be taught to participants.
    • Work with Clark | Weitz | Clarkson to determine class curriculum, number of classes, and size.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse multiple subcontractors, trades, community stakeholders and project stakeholders.
    • Possess knowledge of the commercial construction industry and field-based experience.
    • Must maintain a valid drivers’ license, carry appropriate auto insurance and have reliable transportation.
    • Must have the ability to read and comprehend instruction manuals, blueprints, course curriculum, summarize such materials, and make oral and written class presentations.
    • Be able to pass routine drug, alcohol tests, and background check as required.
    • Be familiar with equipment, hand tools, power tools, and training aids.
    • Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
