    Girl Scouts of NE Kansas & NW Missouri supports 23,000 girl members and 9,000 adult volunteers in its 47 county jurisdiction surrounding the Greater Kansas City, St. Joseph and Topeka areas. This well-established organization is currently seeking a Volunteer Manager to support Lee's Summit and the Southeast area of the Council (Belton, Raymore, Warrensburg, Eastern Jackson County, Cass County, Bates County).

    Responsibilities

    The Volunteer Manager is responsible for creating a positive Girl Scout culture in the areas he/she serves. This includes recruiting and managing service unit level administrative volunteer teams who work together to supplement the troop experience by providing training, peer mentorship, events and information sharing. The Volunteer Manager ensures compliance with and support for policies, standards, business practices and quality Girl Scout program delivery, including the product sales program.

    • Appoint and manage teams of administrative level Girl Scout volunteers.
    • Provide customer support/conflict resolution for Girl Scout volunteers and parents.
    • Schedule and/or facilitate monthly Girl Scout volunteer networking, training or business meetings in assigned areas.
    • Help maintain a fun and positive Girl Scout culture in assigned areas including facilitating volunteer appreciation and recognition.

    Qualifications

    • Two to four years of volunteer relations/management experience.
    • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to engage a wide range of individuals and volunteers.
    • Excellent communication skills with demonstrated success managing conflict situations.
    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field; combination of experience and education will be considered.
    • Passion, integrity, positive attitude, and mission-driven.
    • Valid Driver License with an acceptable driving record.
    • Employment is dependent upon the results of a criminal background investigation.
    • Bilingual – a plus, but not required.
