    Girl Scouts of NE Kansas & NW Missouri supports 23,000 girl members and 9,000 adult volunteers in its 47-county jurisdiction surrounding the Greater Kansas City, St. Joseph and Topeka areas. This well-established organization is currently seeking a STEM Community Partners Manager to provide Council-wide programming support.

     

    Responsibilities

    The STEM Community Partners Manager leads the recruitment, retention and development of the STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) Community Partnerships for Girl Scouts across the 47-county council. An emphasis is placed on offering diverse opportunities across all regions, innovating new programming for the council, managing council partnership STEM initiatives and working closely with marketing, mission delivery and development teams.

    • Create innovative STEM programs that achieve clear outcomes for girls, energize and strengthen girls’ connection with the brand and mission, and expose girls to wide scope of experiences.
    • Recruit, retain and manage the delivery of STEM partnerships, monitor implementation, analyze effectiveness, and evaluate participant feedback. 
    • Work closely with regional staff to create programming and partnerships to meet the needs of all our Girl Scouts and volunteers throughout our 47-county footprint.
    • Assess girls’ needs and interests in STEM and leverage community resources to help meet those needs.
    • Promote and support national core programs of GSUSA and identify and execute strategies for partnerships on enhancement of national program for all levels of participation for girls ages 5-17.

    Key Competencies:

    • Program Design – knowledge of, and experience in, youth program design, development and execution.
    • Relationship Development – demonstrated ability in creating sustainable and mutually beneficial relationships with business and individuals.
    • Project Management – ability to facilitate teams on events; overseeing scope, time-line, budget, event quality and execution. Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple overlapping projects.
    • Organization and Multi-tasking – ability to track and organize multiple relationships, programs, communications and processes effectively and at once.
    • Flexibility – ability to change course when necessary, to approach partners and events with an adaptable mindset and to think outside the box when presented with obstacles.

    Qualifications

    • Three to four years’ youth programming and/or partnership development and implementation experience required.
    • Experience in science, technology, engineering, math or education a plus; other areas acceptable as well.
    • Demonstrated hands-on experience in science program development and implementation.
    • Strong experience preparing and delivering presentations required.
    • Proven ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written, with a wide range of individuals including staff, leadership, volunteers and the public.
    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field; equivalent of education and experience will be considered.
    • Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed.
    • Valid driver’s license, an acceptable driving record and reliable transportation required.
    • Employment is dependent upon the results of a criminal background investigation.
    • Bilingual – a plus, but not required.
