    Girl Scouts of NE Kansas & NW Missouri supports 23,000 girl members and 9,000 adult volunteers in its 47 county jurisdiction surrounding the Greater Kansas City, St. Joseph and Topeka areas. This well-established organization is currently seeking an Outreach Program Coordinator to support the Outreach Program in the Kansas City Metro area. The majority of the work will take place at elementary schools and partner sites the program serves.

    Responsibilities

    The Outreach Program Coordinator will act as an integral part of the successful execution of the council Outreach Program.  This includes the management of events, communication with school staff, record keeping, transportation schedules, attending Outreach troop meetings, building program curriculum and a variety of administrative and programmatic tasks. 

    • Coordinate programs at elementary/middle schools, community centers, partner sites, etc., by communicating with venue staff, scheduling program dates and events, and scheduling of Team Leaders and Program staff.
    • Manage all aspects of the Outreach Program including field trips, the cookie sale, outdoor activities and enhancing the troop experience.
    • Perform administrative duties necessary for the successful delivery of Outreach programming.  This includes, but is not limited to: purchasing, record keeping, making reservations, booking transportation, creating flyers, and planning activities/events.
    • Participate in all necessary trainings for function of the position.
    • Provide support for Team Leaders and Program Managers as needed.
    • Assist with training of Program staff as needed.
    • Work with other departments regarding management of the Product Sales programs, Outdoor experiences, and Outreach events/activities.
    • Ability to execute Outreach program plan when required. 

    Qualifications

    • Associate’s Degree or technical certification required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred or any combination of education, training and experience relevant to the position.
    • Two to four years of progressively responsible related experience.
    • Experience organizing field trips and events for children.
    • Experience with record keeping, data entry, preparing clear and concise reports and other written materials for supervisor, colleagues, school staff, girl participants and parents.
    • Valid Driver License with acceptable driving record and proof of current insurance coverage.
    • Employment is dependent upon the results of a criminal background investigation.
    • Bilingual – a plus, but not required.
