    The Girl Scout Outreach Program is seeking part-time Afterschool Team Leaders for the 2018-2019 school year.

    Responsibilities

    Outreach Team Leaders will supervise a team of staff members and volunteers who lead Girl Scout troops for girls in grades K-5 in afterschool settings in the urban core. This role will create a welcoming environment for the girls and build relationships with parents and after school program staff.

     

    Team Leaders must be available from 3:45-6:15pm Monday-Friday and work some Saturdays for field trips. Additional hours they work are flexible. Most Team Leaders average 20-25 hours per week, but will work more during busy times of the year (camp, field trips, cookie sales, etc.). 

    Qualifications

    • Two years of experience leading groups of children (teaching, childcare, afterschool programming, camp, etc.).
    • Ability to effectively lead a team, including leading weekly meetings and giving their team feedback.
    • Must be able to develop and maintain positive relationships with afterschool program staff and community partners.
    • Comfortable using a CRM, such as Salesforce, to track contact with parents.
    • Experience implementing curriculum and ability to help staff members who are less experienced.
    • Ability to manage behaviors and respond appropriately when working with large groups of children.
    • Ability to complete accurate paperwork and meet deadlines.
    • Must be available to work M-F between the hours of 3:45-6:15pm; requires a flexible schedule to allow for working longer hours during cookie season and camp in the spring.
    • Excellent oral & written communication skills.
    • Must be able to attend all staff meetings and trainings.
    • High School Diploma or GED.
    • Must pass background and driver’s record check and hold a valid state driver’s license with proof of state required liability insurance; must have transportation.
    • Must be CPR and First Aid Certified within 90 days of employment.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
    • Experience working with children who have disabilities and/or behavior management issues.
    • Experience coordinating volunteers.
    • Bilingual.
