    For more than 30 years, reStart Inc. has provided housing and services to homeless youth, families, men, and women to end homelessness in the Kansas City community.

     

    A pioneer in the field, reStart is the only homeless agency in Kansas City serving all homeless populations, including singles, couples, gay, straight and transgender individuals, as well as youth ages 12-18, non-traditional families, persons with HIV/AIDS and individuals with substance use and mental health related issues.

     

    They are seeking a Substance Abuse Counselor to join their team.

    Responsibilities

    The Counselor will be responsible for assisting to ensure a safe drug free environment. To provide substance use assessment, education, counseling services and case management for reStart clients.  Counselor will demonstrate professionalism while interfacing with funders and community partners.

    • Conduct individual and group substance abuse counseling.
    • Conduct psychoeducational groups.
    • Complete assessments/treatment plans/drug testing.
    • Complete required documentation.
    • Carry small case management load.                          

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Services or related field preferred.

    • Current licensure with the Missouri Substance Abuse Credentialing Board.
    • Must pass a criminal records check and pre-employment drug screening.
