    OMNI serves as the human resources business partner of Visit Overland Park. The mission of Visit Overland Park (formerly known as the Overland Park Convention & Visitor's Bureau) is to facilitate tourism development and promote Overland Park as a convention, leisure and sports destination. 

     

    Our client is seeking a forward thinker who is highly collaborative and politically savvy to serve as the Executive Administrator. This high profile, highly visible position will serve as a strategic adviser, sounding board and confidant to the President in all matters related to the Bureau.

    Responsibilities

    As a member of the Management Team, the Executive Administrator will assist in developing and advancing the President’s vision and direction for the Bureau and its strategic plan through successful relationship and project management. Additionally, this person will:

    • Work closely to coordinate the schedule of the President and ensure smooth facilitation of those scheduled activities with department leaders.
    • Maintain effective organization of Board policies, By-laws and State statutes to ensure all of the Visit Overland Park activities are implemented within these established policies, guidelines, laws and ethical standards
    • Manage projects and coordinate staff members to ensure ongoing and efficient operations of the Bureau.  
    • Serve as Visit Overland Park’s liaison with the organization’s business subcontractors.
    • Manage day-to-day issues and workflow, including the President’s correspondence, scheduling, meeting follow-up and regular information requests.
    • Ensure the office of the President is compliant with all organizational policies, practices, and procedures.
    • Serve as Visit Overland Park’s administrative office manager to ensure the organization’s business matters are handled in a timely, compliant and organized manner.

    Qualifications

    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide leadership. Ability to think strategically, and to manage and operate at both a strategic and a hands-on level as needed.
    • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail with strong analytic ability and aptitude.
    • Track record of performing complex tasks with limited supervision as well as meeting deadlines and managing multiple projects in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Extensive knowledge of and enthusiasm for Overland Park and related facilities.
    • Technical proficiency with MS Office and Outlook is required.
    • Ability to develop strong relationships with elected officials and hospitality leaders.
    • Values integrity and practices discretion and confidentiality in the best interest of the organization at all times. 
    • High-energy, proactive, creative, organized and able to handle a host of difficult situations tactfully.
    • Must consistently represent and demonstrate professional demeanor and judgment.
    • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
