For more than 30 years, reStart Inc. has provided housing and services to homeless youth, families, men, and women to end homelessness in the Kansas City community.

 

A pioneer in the field, reStart is the only homeless agency in Kansas City serving all homeless populations, including singles, couples, gay, straight and transgender individuals, as well as youth ages 12-18, non-traditional families, persons with HIV/AIDS and individuals with substance use and mental health related issues.

 

They are seeking a Rapid Re-Housing Program Manager to join their team.

Responsibilities

The Rapid Re-Housing Manager will be responsible for managing direct assistance funds to rapidly rehouse youth, families, and adults.  This individual will work with case managers, clients, and landlords to promote positive, strengths-based relationships to ensure sustained housing.  This position will supervise a team of case managers and ensure services are provided with trauma-informed care and strengths-based approaches in mind. The Rapid Re-Housing Program Manager will be responsible for collaborating with the Continuum of Care to implement coordinated entry policies and procedures within the Rapid Re-Housing framework.

  • Manage allocation of emergency assistance and Rapid Re-Housing funds.
  • Supervise team of Rapid Re-Housing Specialists and provide leadership to ensure all regulatory and budgetary guidelines are met.
  • Prepare statistical reports to funding sources, the Director of Programs and Services, and others as required.
  • Form and maintain positive relationships with housing providers (public housing, Section 8, private landlords).
  • Coordinate continuity of services with collateral agencies and coordinate services in the community.

Qualifications

  • MSW or related human services degree.  Professional licensure preferred.  Experience may be substituted for degree.
  • 3 years of relevant experience working with homeless individuals, families, youth and/or other underserved populations.  Experience working in mental health and or substance abuse field preferred.
  • 2 years of supervisory/management experience required. Preferred experience with permanent supportive housing.
  • Must possess good communication skills, empathy, positive attitude, and be non-judgmental.
  • Must be able to pass state screening for child abuse, criminal background check and drug test.
