For more than 30 years, reStart Inc. has provided housing and services to homeless youth, families, men, and women to end homelessness in the Kansas City community.

 

A pioneer in the field, reStart is the only homeless agency in Kansas City serving all homeless populations, including singles, couples, gay, straight and transgender individuals, as well as youth ages 12-18, non-traditional families, persons with HIV/AIDS and individuals with substance use and mental health related issues.

 

They are seeking a Monitor (PRN - part-time weekend shifts) to join their team.

 

Responsibilities

The Monitor is responsible for the safety and security of reStart staff, property and clients. This individual will assist social service staff with needs of our clients. This includes monitoring CCTV and actively patrolling the reStart property. This role will conduct room inspections for contract compliance, cleanliness and contraband, as well as respond to emergencies that affect reStart operations.

  • Intervene in disputes between clients
  • Physical patrol of the property
  • Operate CCTV
  • Document incidents, observations and activities that would affect operational security
  • Respond to emergencies within the building

Qualifications

  • College degree in Social, Criminal Justice or Security preferred.
  • Will consider individuals working toward a similar college degree or experience within similar job sector.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with staff, residents and guests.
  • Punctual, reliable and able to exercise good judgment.
  • Must be drug and alcohol free; passing criminal records checks required.
